The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is the regional planning and intergovernmental coordination agency that focuses on issues critical to the region’s success, including growth and development, transportation, water resources, services for older adults and workforce solutions. ARC is dedicated to unifying the region’s collective resources to prepare the metropolitan area for a prosperous future. This is done through professional planning initiatives, the provision of objective information and the involvement of the community in collaborative partnerships.

The Management Services Specialist will be responsible for performing administrative support to enhance the performance of the Program Development Unit.  This individual will report to and work with the unit manager to identify innovative solutions that streamline processes, track data and enhance individual and unit performance.  This position is also responsible for entering client information into required client management systems; tracking unit purchasing and invoicing; helping with P-card reconciliation; and pulling program reports and compiling data for monthly unit reporting.   

This temporary position is not eligible for benefits; working up to 25 hours per week.


  • Input required documentation into program databases; completing within prescribed timeframes;
  • Track unit purchasing for assistive technology and material aid purchases and coordinate purchasing and invoice processing for these items;
  • Develop reporting format and pull monthly reports for unit program grant reporting, Key Performance Indicators and monthly dashboard metrics;
  • Gather monthly P-card purchasing information from unit card holders and compile and submit monthly P-Card reconciliation reports;
  • Provide general administration support to the Program Development Unit Manager;
  • Assist with meetings, including AV and room set up and catering;
  • Update unit protocols and manuals;
  •  Perform other duties as assigned to support agency goals and objectives.


  • Knowledge of agency policies and procedures;
  • Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment;
  • Ability to offer suggestions for process improvement;
  • Ability to work in collaboration with other team members and unit supervisors;
  • Ability to compile and assess data to identify trends;
  • Ability to work independently, establish priorities and organize work;
  • Ability to multi-task with attention to detail and strong time management skills;
  • Possess excellent communication skills, including both written and verbal;
  • Possess strong analytical, technical, and organizational skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint) and data management systems.


  • High School Diploma
  • Four (4) years of administrative support or customer service experience

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, public administration, social work, gerontology or related field
